Sensory-friendly home repair
For families caring for someone who does best with routine, preparation and calm. A repair visit shouldn't turn the whole day upside down.
Before the visit
- Meet the pro first. A photo of the pro and their name, sent ahead of time.
- Know the steps. A short, plain step-by-step of what will happen, where, and about how long it takes.
- A set window. A scheduled time, plus a text when the pro is 15 minutes away. No surprise doorbells.
During the visit
- Same pro each time whenever possible.
- Quiet first. The pro tells you before anything loud, like a drill or a saw, and uses quieter tools when the job allows.
- Breaks are fine. The visit can pause, and nobody rushes.
- Caregiver on video. A family member who can't be there can join by video call.
After
Photos of the finished work, and the price you already approved. Nothing is paid at the door.
Tell us what helps when you book: a quiet entry, a room to avoid, a time of day that works best. We'll pass it to the pro.
Common questions
Are the pros specially trained?
Pros who take sensory-friendly visits agree to follow the visit steps on this page. We're building a short training for them and will say so here when it's in place.
Can I be on the call if I can't be there?
Yes. A caregiver can join by video during the visit.
What if the visit has to pause?
That's fine. Breaks are part of the plan, and the pro won't rush the job.
